When I began to do my makeup I had no clue it was going to turn out like this. Unlike most days, I actually had a plan. I had a specific look I was going for. But once I drew than inner cat-eye accent, the look changed into this darker and sexier version of the wide-eyed gold eyelid look I had in mind.
As always, there are plenty of things you can do to change up the look and either make it more daytime appropriate or even more dramatic. To make it more wearable, skip out on the inner eye accent and instead opt for a nice pop of gold in that inner corner. Also, you could swap the lip for a pink or a nude. To make it more dramatic, add a full winged liner and add black in the waterline and smoke out that lower lashline.
Lets go onto the products used.
On the eyes:
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded
Nyx Slide On Pencil in Brown Perfection
On the Lips:
Jordana Cosmetics Matte lipstick in Eggplant
On the Face:
Milani Blush in Luminoso
Now the steps.
- To begin, I took a large fluffy brush and started running the shade with the blue flower through my crease.
- Once I had built up a nice transition, I took the shade with the red flower and a more tapered crease brush and concentrated that right in the eye socket.
- Next, I took the shade with the pink flower and a smaller pointed tapered brush and put that very precisely in the eye socket.
- After that, I took the shade with the purple flower with that same pointed tapered brush and put that right into the eye socket.
- I took the tapered crease brush and went over everything in the socket area to make sure there were no harsh lines.
- I then hilighted my brow bone using the shade marked with the leaf.
- Next, I took my Color Tattoo in Barely Branded and put that over my eyelids with my fingers.
- I topped that base with the gold shade with the flower using a shader brush.
- I went in with that tapered crease brush just to make sure there were no harsh lines left from the lid shade.
- I added a brown pencil in my waterline.
- I put the shade marked with the red flower on my lower lashline.
- I added my lashes.
- For the inner corner I took a thin liner brush and the black shadow in the palette. I started drawing the line from where my lashes end toward my tearduct. I follow my tearduct and extend the line towards my nose a bit. Once that is done, I take that line and and draw it back towards my lower lashline/tearduct. Take your time with the step. Go slowly and build up the intensity of that inner corner. Maybe even start with a brown shadow at first to get the shape and then go over with the black. If you mess up, just wipe it away; since it's eyeshadow it should take off with no problems!
- Lastly I added mascara.
That is is for the makeup look. I hope you enjoyed this more dramatic look. Remember that it's just makeup and you can just wash it off, so never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!
